Two of the Royals’ five playoff-bound affiliates have advanced to their respective championship series. The Rookie-level Dominican Royals1 will take on the D-backs1 for the Dominican Summer League title, and the Rookie-Advanced Burlington Royals will face off against the Johnson City Cardinals for the Appalachian League championship.
On Saturday, the Dominican Royals1 defeated the Rangers1 4–3 in the decisive game three, entering the ninth down by a run but scoring two in the top of the frame to win. Jean Ramirez led off the ninth with a single to right, stole second, and scored the tying tally on a wild pitch.
