With a 4–3 walk-off win over the Pulaski Yankees on Friday, August 23, the Rookie-Advanced Burlington Royals clinched a spot in the Appalachian League postseason.
This is the B-Royals’ fourth playoff appearance as part of the Royals organization, since 2007. Burlington fell in the championship series in 2012 and 2016, and exited in the first round of the playoffs in 2010.
Raymond Lopez had the game-winning RBI, driving in Vinnie Pasquantino on a sac fly in the bottom of the ninth. The B-Royals entered the ninth trailing by one run, but rallied quickly, as Michael Massey led off the frame with a single to right field.
