Alex Gordon wins seventh Gold Glove

On Sunday night, Rawlings announced their 2019 Gold Glove awards. The awards are voted by managers and players around baseball and given out to position players in both respective leagues who are considered the best at their defensive position. Also as part of the consideration, the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) provides a sabermetric component that is worth 25% of the vote.

Alex Gordon won one of the award for his play in left field, his seventh such time winning the award (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018 and now 2019). That is the second- most in franchise history behind Frank White’s eight Gold Glove.
