Splitting work between Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware makes sense

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have one of their better rushing games in Sunday’s win over the Oakland Raiders. They gained just 89 rushing yards, the only time they haven’t topped 100 yards during their five-game winning streak.

But coach Andy Reid wasn’t blaming the time-share arrangement the Chiefs had going on in their backfield. Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware each got work. West played 34 snaps and got the ball 11 times, nine times on carries and two times on passes. Ware played 17 snaps but had nine touches, including a 10-yard touchdown run.
