Report: Derrick Johnson to sign one-day contract to retire a Chief

Don’t adjust your computer screen, cell phone or whatever it is you use to access Arrowhead Pride. For the second day in a row, a former Kansas City Chiefs great will sign a one-day contract to retire with the club.

This time it is Derrick Johnson, according to 610 Sports Radio, who follows in the footsteps of running back Jamaal Charles, who signed his one-day contract on Wednesday.

Johnson, 36, is the franchise’s leading tackler with 1,151 tackles in 13 years as a Chief. The Chiefs drafted Johnson 15th overall with their first-round pick back in the 2005 NFL Draft.
