The Kansas City Chiefs lost safety Bryan Cook to what looked like a gruesome ankle injury during the third quarter of their “Sunday Night Football” loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Kansas City’s athletic trainers called for a cart to take Cook off his feet as they removed him from the playing field, which is typically a sign that the injury could cost the player an extended period of time. NBC’s broadcast showed Cook in tears as he exited the playing area.
During his post-game media session, head coach Andy Reid noted that the team was “looking” at Cooks’ ankle.
