KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As a San Diego native, Qualcomm Stadium was once a second home of sorts to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith. He played some games there in high school. He played some games there in college at the University of Utah. He’s played some games there in the NFL.
So, perhaps more than any of his teammates, it’s a big deal to Smith that he could be playing in the last NFL game in San Diego on Sunday, when the Chiefs face the Chargers.
“Weird,’’ Smith said when asked about the possibility. “I’ve played there in high school.
