Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had just added another highlight to his reel with his 54-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tyreek Hill. But the Los Angeles Chargers had blocked an extra point earlier in the game, and that meant the Chiefs were chasing eight instead of seven.
Down 17-15 a few minutes into the fourth quarter, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid called for a two-point conversion.

“We had a play called with a little kind of either a shovel pass or I roll out the throw to Clyde (Edwards-Helaire),” the quarterback recounted.
