It is inevitable that comparisons are made from one quarterback to another in situations like this, and such things lead to polarization of opinions. It’s unfortunate, because it’s perfectly acceptable to like Alex Smith (which I do) and acknowledge that Mahomes was remarkable in his first NFL start (which he was).
