NFL Draft 2018: Chiefs earn 1 compensatory draft pick

The National Football League announced the compensatory draft picks for the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft, and the Kansas City Chiefs will be receiving one extra pick in the process, at the tail end of the sixth round.

The Chiefs earned a pick for letting Nick Foles leave as a free agent to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles. Compensatory picks are awarded based on the quality of free agents a team loses from the previous season. Of course, Foles’s performance in the playoffs and Super Bowl had no bearing or else the pick would be much, much higher for the Chiefs.
