Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Josh Mauga was expected to be a role player in 2014, but pressed into action at inside linebacker last season and did well enough the team signed him to a three-year, $8 million contract this offseason.
Mauga will again be in the mix to start next to Derrick Johnson in 2015 and defensive coordinator Bob Sutton, who coached Mauga with the Jets, believes his versatility will land him plenty of playing time this season.
“He has knowledge of the system,” Sutton said, via KCChiefs.com.
“He has played both inside positions.
