The NFL Draft is a moment of triumph for the 255 players who fulfill their lifelong dream of becoming a professional football player, and a huge opportunity for the hundreds of others who are signed as undrafted rookie free agents. It also spells uncertainty for scores of veterans who lose their jobs as a result, some of whom will be done playing in the league after being unable to find work elsewhere. Many will be picked up elsewhere by teams who failed to fulfill their needs in the draft or pre-draft free agency periods.
