Kansas City Chiefs release cornerback Arrion Springs, sign tight end David Wells

The Kansas City Chiefs disappointed a number of hardcore fans on Tuesday evening with the announcement that they had released former Oregon State cornerback Arrion Springs from the practice squad. In his place, they have signed former San Diego State tight end David Wells.

The Chiefs had kicked the tires on former Oakland Raiders tight end Clive Walford earlier this week, and the signing of Wells signals their desire to add more talent to the position. Is there a further move coming on the active roster? That much is yet unknown.

As for Springs, he signed with the Chiefs as a rookie free agent and lasted until final roster cuts were announced.
