Kansas City Chiefs pursuing Sam Madison as secondary coach

First reported by The Athletic KC’s own Nate Taylor, former NFL cornerback Sam Madison is the leading candidate to join Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s staff as a secondary coach.

Madison played under Spagnuolo for the Giants in 2007, the same year they won the Super Bowl. He enjoyed a decent pro career having retired in 2008 with 38 interceptions and 81 defended passes.

Madison would work with new defensive backs coach David Merritt, who recently came over from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On this snowy day, according to multiple sources, Sam Madison is a leading candidate to join Steve Spagnuolo’s staff as an assistant in the secondary.
