It’s not a secret: while the team won its second-straight Super Bowl in 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense had problems. You could even characterize the unit’s underwhelming, frustrating performance as a borderline crisis.

While there were a lot of reasons for it, one of the most underappreciated issues was that after being a big part of the team’s offensive success in 2022, the performance of the team’s 13 personnel package — with a running back and three tight ends — completely cratered.
