For first time since ’83, Chiefs draft quarterback in first round: Patrick Mahomes

The Chiefs drafted Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Thursday night after trading up from from No. 27 to No. 10 in the NFL Draft. The Chiefs traded their first and a third-round pick this year and their 2018 first-round pick to the Buffalo Bills.

It had been 34 years since the Chiefs last took a quarterback in the first round: Todd Blackledge in 1983.
