Dontari Poe scores first Chiefs' first touchdown

SAN DIEGO -- The Kansas City Chiefs' first touchdown on Sunday came from an unlikely source -- 346-pound defensive lineman Dontari Poe.

Poe scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter to give the Chiefs a 6-0 lead. Kicker Cairo Santos missed the PAT attempt afterward.

Poe doesn't play much but entered the game with the Chiefs facing a fourth down at the Chargers' 1. Instead of Poe blocking for Charcandrick West, Poe was given the ball and bulled his way into the end zone.

The last Chiefs' defensive player to score a touchdown on an offensive play was defensive lineman Shaun Smith, who scored on a one-yard run on November 28, 2010 against Seattle.
