Darrelle Revis released by Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to create more cap room this offseason with one move after another, the latest being the release of veteran cornerback Darrelle Revis. The move was somewhat expected and ends Revis’s career in Kansas City after a short six-game stretch to end the regular season and postseason.

Revis joined the Chiefs during the second half of the regular season after the team’s internal options at cornerback failed to hold down the starting cornerback slot opposite Marcus Peters. Phillip Gaines, Terrance Mitchell, Kenneth Acker and Steven Nelson all tried to occupy the role, but it was clear the team needed external help if they were going to stop their midseason slide.
