The deal is done. The news has been announced. The transaction is official. Trey Smith will be a member of the Kansas City Chiefs roster through the 2028 season.

Terms of a four-year contract between Smith and the Chiefs were announced on Tuesday, just hours before the NFL's deadline to get a deal done between players with a franchise tag and their respective franchises.

Smith has $94 million reasons to smile given the lucrative nature of the deal. Smith can earn up to that much with $70M of that in practical guarantees. That's quite a raise for a player who has provided Pro Bowl performances on the pay of a sixth-round draft choice.
