Commanders selling trusted Chiefs lineman and timing couldn’t be better

The Washington Commanders are fading fast, and their general manager has reportedly made his choice. As the NFL's trade deadline looms large, Adam Peters seems committed to at least getting some value out of quickly depreciating assets for a team that's sunk in the NFC East.

NFL reporter Jordan Schultz has word that the Commanders GM is open to dealing veteran players before the deadline, a white flag waved in the face of the team's 3-6 record heading into the season's second half.

The Commanders' decision to sell off at least some players could play right into the Chiefs' deadline plans to bolster the offensive line.
