The Chiefs signed receiver Jeret Smith on Friday, the team announced.
Smith, who is listed at 5 feet 10 and 211 pounds, attended McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.
He went undrafted after a 2014 season in which he caught 54 passes for 1,143 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Smith was invited to the Chiefs' rookie minicamp as a tryout player, and was invited back this week on a tryout basis for the team's mandatory minicamp with the veterans.
Smith's addition brings the Chiefs' roster size to the offseason max of 90.
