Just when it seemed like the Chiefs might get shut out of the safety market on the first day of the NFL’s negotiating period, an elite player appears to be on his way to Kansas City.

The Chiefs intend to sign safety Tyrann Mathieu, swiping him away from the Texans.

Former Texans’ S Tyrann Mathieu intends to sign a three-year, $42 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, per a league source.
