Chiefs release WR Jamire Jordan with injury settlement

According to the official NFL transaction report, the Kansas City Chiefs released wide receiver Jamire Jordan with an injury settlement on Thursday.

Jordan, 23, was signed by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State on May 4. After being redshirted, Jordan played four years for the Bulldogs, gaining 2,245 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns on 145 receptions.

Jordan was waived with an injury designation on May 7 in order to make room for other players on the 90-man roster. After he cleared waivers, the Chiefs placed him on injured reserve — where he would not count against the Chiefs 90-man roster — which raised the possibility the Chiefs might try to hang on to him through training camp and beyond; we’ve never learned of a specific injury to Jordan.
