Chiefs release former Raytown running back LaVance Taylor

ST. JOSEPH

One of the best stories of the Chiefs’ 2015 training camp lasted less than 72 hours.

On Sunday, the club announced that it had released former Raytown running back LaVance Taylor — the player who asked the Chiefs for a job via Twitter and got one — to make room for the addition of running back Darrin Reaves of Alabama-Birmingham.

Taylor, an undrafted rookie who was a record-setting running back for Central Missouri, included the Chiefs on his list of NFL teams, along with Jerry Jones and Deion Sanders, that he attempted to contact through Twitter.
