Chiefs quietly reveal Xavier Worthy return is closer than anyone expected

They say "no news is good news," at least sometimes, and Kansas City Chiefs fans can only hope that applies to the progress of wide receiver Xavier Worthy.

Worthy, a second-year receiver who was the Chiefs' first-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, suffered a shoulder injury during an accidental collision with tight end Travis Kelce within the first few plays to start the regular season. Worthy went to the locker room in the first quarter against the L.A. Chargers in Week 1 and was designated out for the rest of the game.

The Chiefs were forced to wait a bit longer than usual to get Worthy an MRI for closer inspection, given the long flight back from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
