Chiefs have rare shot at RB they loved in draft but left on the board

When the Kansas City Chiefs were on the clock in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, it felt inevitable that it was the spot they'd draft a running back. Brett Veach had even spoken about the depth and talent of the RB class, which meant good names would be available on day three.

Damien Martinez from Miami was one of the top names on the board, as well as Kansas’ Devin Neal. Instead, the pick was Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, whom the Chiefs are still very high on.

The Seahawks are giving the Chiefs a second chance with a draft crush.
