5:14 p.m. — The Chiefs have released safety Jeron Johnson, a source confirmed to The Star.
Analysis: The Chiefs’ top four safeties are set with Eric Berry, Ron Parker, Daniel Sorensen and Eric Murray, but Johnson had a chance to make the roster if they wanted to keep five. It will be interesting to see if Brock Vereen makes it.
