Chad Henne returns to Chiefs on two-year contract

Two years after signing Chad Henne to a two-year contract the first time around, the Kansas City Chiefs have decided they’d like to renew their commitment to the veteran quarterback for the same span of time. Per Terez Paylor of Yahoo! Sports, both sides will sign a new two-year deal when free agency begins on Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed as of press time.

Henne originally signed a two-year deal to be Patrick Mahomes primary backup and veteran mentor during Mahomes’ first two years as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
