The Kansas City Chiefs finally got into the win column this season with a 22-9 victory over the New York Giants. While the offense did come alive in the fourth quarter and pull away for the win, the Chiefs’ offense looked abysmal for the other three quarters of that game.
While the quarterback tends to get most of the blame when things aren't going well offensively, Chiefs fans know that Patrick Mahomes does not deserve much of that blame. It's hard for him to do his job accurately when his wide receivers aren't doing theirs.
Advanced stats detail how bad things are for Mahomes when it comes to his wide receivers, as he's fifth in expected points added (or EPA, as the cool kids refer to it) lost due to wide receiver errors and drops.
