SAN DIEGO – Alex Smith broke a Kansas City Chiefs record for consecutive passes without throwing an interception on Sunday but that was not the most distinguishing part of his game against the San Diego Chargers.
Smith threw for 253 yards, including 202 in the first half, as the passing game carried the Chiefs to a 33-3 win over the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs needed to make their way through their air against the Chargers, who largely took away the Chiefs’ running game as any kind of factor.
They did so mostly with the aid of big plays.
