Chiefs News and Rumors starts with Mike Pennel as the Chiefs are expecting to be without Mike Pennel during the first part of the 2020 NFL Season. Pennel is expected to be suspended and is reportedly in the appeal process right now. It’s unclear what the suspension is for, but the Chiefs have apparently been aware that this was coming. The Chiefs had several notable players not practice at training camp today including Sammy Watkins, Chris Jones, Eric Fisher and several others. Ricky Seals-Jones did practice however, and he got carted off the field with a leg injury. The severity of the injury is unknown, but with Deon Yelder also nursing a groin injury, the Chiefs are pretty thin at tight end behind Travis Kelce at the moment.

Breeland Speaks is returning from injury after spending 2019 on IR. Speaks seems motivated as he discussed his recovery and offseason stating that he’s lost some weight and excited to be back out there. Can Speaks make the Chiefs 53-man roster and have an impact in 2020?
Chiefs Training Camp News also includes Jordan Ta’Amu’s impressive day as he threw a long TD pass and had several other nice throws. Ta’Amu isn’t expected to make the Chiefs final roster, but he’s a prime developmental candidate that could land on the Chiefs Practice Squad.
