Instant Reaction: Cardinals Overcome Chiefs In 17-14 Slugfest

The Kansas City Chiefs struggled to put points on the board against Arizona's defense, and it ultimately cost them the game. Kansas City didn't have trouble moving the ball - they racked up 390 yards of offense - but two turnovers and two failed fourth-down conversions proved to be their undoing.

Turning Point:

A controversial fumble call with 5:31 left in the fourth quarter saw Arizona take over possession when Chiefs TE Travis Kelce appeared to lose the ball during a tackle. While the runner was ruled down at first, Arizona challenged the call...and was awarded possession. Arizona was able to chew up valuable clock time on the ensuing drive, and by the time the Cheifs regained possession, it was too late.

Arizona MVP

The entire defense played their part, but LB Alex Okafor deserves special recognition. Okafor had two tackles, a sack, a pass deflection, and HUGE interception that came at a the best possible time for the Cardinals.

Stat of the Day

After winning five straight games after their bye, the Chiefs have now dropped three straight...and their playoff chances are now in serious doubt. Arizona, on the other hand, has won their first game since Carson Palmer went down for the year with an ACL injury, and one win in their final three games should be enough to lock up a playoff spot.

What's Next?

The Cardinals will travel to St. Louis for a matchup against the streaking Rams, while Kansas City will host Oakland, the team that started their losing streak on Thursday Night Football in Week 12.
