Among Jacksonville’s undrafted free agent signees, one of the Jaguars’ more notable additions was former Syracuse receiver Amba Etta-Tawo.
After two seasons at Maryland, Etta-Tawo burst onto the scene in 2016 with Syracuse, finishing ninth in the nation with 1,482 receiving yards.
Some of that can be attributed to his success in the deep-passing game (on catches 20-plus yards from the line scrimmage), as Etta-Tawo’s 15 deep receptions and 687 yards on deep passes were both good for seventh among draft-eligible receivers.
With Blake Bortles’ deep-passing struggles in 2016 well documented, the addition of another deep threat in Etta-Tawo could help in addressing the issue.
