EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Jaguars defense played well and the offense had its moments.
But, it wasn’t enough.
The Jaguars were undone by turnovers and special teams gaffes in a 28-23 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
The loss dropped the Jaguars to 2-6 and 9-31 under third-year coach Gus Bradley.
Rookie punt returner Nick Marshall muffed a Jets punt with 3:37 to play. The Jets (5-3) recovered at the Jaguars 25-yard line, leading 21-16.
Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick then completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to receiver Brandon Marshall on third-and-5 to basically put the game away with 2:41 left.
