Toby Gerhart understands how unpredictable life in the NFL is.
“Football is a crazy game,’’ the Jaguars veteran running back said earlier this week. “I’m waiting for the opportunity. Things change quickly in the NFL. I hope it’s not [because of] an injury. You can be thrust right back in there. I’m ready if my number is called.’’
He hasn’t had much of an opportunity this year. He missed the first two games with an injury and has had just five carries in the last three games for 10 yards, just one carry for two yards in Tampa and has become more of a special teams player.
