Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon will be at the team’s downtown hotel Saturday night and not in New York when Yulee native Derrick Henry could win the Heisman Trophy. But he will be monitoring the ceremony hoping his former Alabama teammate wins the award.
A year ahead of Henry, Yeldon has taken pride in his friend’s tour de force of the Southeastern Conference.
“It feels good, but it’s all him,” Yeldon said. “He puts in all of the hard work.”
Yeldon and Henry were Crimson Tide teammates in 2013-14. Yeldon played as a true freshman in 2012 and entered the draft last year, going to the Jaguars in the second round.
