Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles targeted tight ends Julius Thomas and Marcedes Lewis seven times in Sunday’s 27-23 loss to Green Bay in the season opener.
Each attempt was completed.
Thomas and Lewis combined to gain 112 yards with a touchdown against the Packers.
Expect that kind of production to continue for a variety of reasons this Sunday when the Jaguars travel to San Diego.
The tight-end efficiency was one of the biggest positive takeaways from the loss.
“That’s huge,” Thomas said. “If you want to be a great offense, you have to take advantage of your opportunities.
