Around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 23, Earl Wolff wasn’t thinking about his NFL comeback with the Jaguars or his knee finally feeling normal or how he always enjoying visiting his hometown of Fayetteville, N.C.
No, with a zip tie bounding his legs together and tying his hands behind his back, only one thought dominated Wolff’s mind as he was being kidnapped by several men.
“All I could think about was my family,” he said. “I kept saying, ‘Take whatever you want as long as you don’t hurt my family.’ ”
Signed by the Jaguars in December to compete for a backup safety spot, Wolff would often drive back to Fayetteville to visit his mom, sister and four nieces/nephews.
