Smiles came easy for three Jaguars rookies after Monday’s practice.
Running back Corey Grant, linebacker Thurston Armbrister and cornerback Nick Marshall had beaten the odds, making the team’s 53-man roster after signing as undrafted free agents.
Grant made a successful late push, rushing for 74 yards on five carries in the preseason finale at Washington on Thursday. The Auburn product broke a 40-yard touchdown, as well as runs of 20 and 14 yards.
“It was nerve-racking this weekend,” Grant said. “After Thursday’s performance, I thought I did the best I could. There wasn’t anything else I could do.
