Yahoo and the NFL reported that the streaming of the Jaguars-Bills game in London attracted 15.2 million unique viewers.
But CNN reported that if the numbers are counted the way TV ratings are, there were only 2.36 million viewers. It said an NFL spokesman confirmed those figures.
Those numbers fell far short of the 9.9 million viewers the first London game between the Dolphins and Jets attracted on CBS.
And Yahoo may have gotten the 15.2 number by counting viewers who stopped by the home page on the way to checking their email.
Although the Jets-Dolphins numbers may reflect the way that they play in bigger markets than the Jaguars and Bills, they are an indication that fans prefer to watch games on their big TV screens rather than stream them on their computers.
