Sheriff announces review of officer actions after crash involving Jaguars RB Denard Robinson

Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams announced Wednesday there will be a full review of the actions by officers after a Sunday car crash where Jaguars running back Denard Robinson drove into a retention pond.

“I have ordered a review of the incident by the officers’ chain of command. Based on that review, any necessary and warranted corrective action will be taken,” said Williams in an email.

In 2013 at the same intersection where the car went into the pond Sunday, Robinson was charged with running a red light, according to court records.

The Sheriff’s Office crash report from Sunday’s crash said Robinson was asleep when a responding officer found the Chevrolet Impala submerged in the pond near Beach and Southside boulevards.
