Call him Jaguars director of pro personnel, Jacksonville native, Bishop Kenny and Alabama graduate, David and Arlene’s son, Alyson’s husband and Thomas, Travis and Tyler’s father.
Just don’t call him “Chris Driggers.”
“Always Cub,” he said.
“Or Cubby,” general manager Dave Caldwell said.
Promoted to his first director’s job by Caldwell on May 28, Driggers sat in his EverBank Field office last month for what he said was his first-ever interview.
Driggers discussed his nickname (“Cub” is the middle name on his birth certificate, a play off his father’s nickname, “Bear”), high school playing career (guard and linebacker), first job with the Jaguars (a little of everything), the best college player he ever evaluated (Adrian Peterson) and the current culture (“you can’t help but be in love with football”).
