The Jaguars continued to bolster their secondary on Friday, agreeing to a contract with free agent cornerback Prince Amukumara.
ESPN first reported the signing. Amukumara was considered by many the third-best cornerback on the market behind Los Angeles’ Janoris Jenkins and Kansas City’s Sean Smith, both of whom have already signed with other teams.
The 26-year-old Amukumara has been visiting the Jaguars at EverBank Field, arriving Thursday night. The 6-foot, 207-pound Amukumara played his first five seasons with the New York Giants, starting 45 games. He has seven career interceptions and 45 pass break-ups with three forced fumbles.
