The Jaguars have lost director of college scouting Kyle O’Brien to the Detroit Lions, where he will serve as director of player personnel.
The move to Detroit is a promotion for O’Brien and moves him a step up the ladder toward being a general manager.
O’Brien was hired by new Lions general manager Bob Quinn; the two previously worked together in the New England organization.
O’Brien is the first person from Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell’s front office to move on via promotion.
In a statement released by the Jaguars, Caldwell said: "On behalf of the Jaguars, we are appreciative of all the great work that Kyle has done for the organization over the past three years and are excited for him and his family as they embark on the next step of his career.
