Bernard Pierce knows all about the highs and lows of an NFL player.
In his rookie season in Baltimore in 2012, he won a Super Bowl ring and led the team in rushing in two playoff games, including a 103-yard effort against Denver in a first-round game. During the regular season, he gained 533 yards and led the team with a 4.9-yard average.
Since then, Pierce struggled on and off the field.
In 2013, the Ravens had offensive line problems and his 2.9-yard average per carry was second-lowest in the league.
He appeared to get a second chance in 2014 when Ray Rice was suspended, and Pierce was handed the starting running back job.
