The Philadelphia Eagles announced Monday they have completed their interview with former Jaguars and Giants coach Tom Coughlin.
But the Eagles apparently aren’t the only team interested in Coughlin. Fox Sports reported the San Francisco 49ers have asked permission to talk to Coughlin.
Teams have to ask the Giants permission to talk to him because he technically wasn’t fired. He announced he was stepping down last week.
The 49ers apparently haven’t set up an interview with Coughlin, who’s never worked on the West Coast.
The Eagles also have interviewed three offensive coordinators, Pat Shurmur of the Eagles, Doug Pederson of the Chiefs, who played and coached with the Eagles in the past, and Ben McAdoo of the Giants.
