The NFL’s commitment to the United Kingdom grew Wednesday when it announced a partnership with the Tottenham soccer club to play two games per season for 10 years at a stadium scheduled to open in 2018.
The 61,000-seat stadium will feature a grass playing surface for soccer that can be retracted so an artificial surface can be used for the NFL games.
The 90,000-seat Wembley Stadium has hosted 11 regular season games since 2007, including Jaguars games in 2013-14. The natural grass playing surface has been criticized for being easily torn up during the course of a football game.
