Further discouraging kickoff returns and ejecting a player who is called for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in a game are two of the recommended rule changes that will be voted on by the NFL’s 32 teams next week.
The league’s competition committee announced nine proposals Thursday as well as 10 other recommendations made by individual clubs.
Teams will vote on the proposals during the league meetings in Boca Raton.
The eight-man competition committee consists of two coaches, two general managers, two team presidents and two members of ownership. Since January, they’ve met in New York, Indianapolis and Palm Beach for a combined 10 days.
