At next week’s NFL League Meetings in Boca Raton, teams will vote on 19 rule changes, nine proposed by the Competition Committee and 10 by the individual clubs.
The Jaguars did not author any of the team-suggested rules changes.
Among the key proposals:
*A permanent adoption of the longer extra point (line of scrimmage at the 15-yard line). This was approved last March on a one-year basis.
*An offense will start at their 25-yard line following a touchback on a kickoff. The NCAA has used this rule, moving up from the 20-yard line. This is another way to prevent the collisions that come on kickoff returns.
