NFL rewind: Raiders making faster progress than Jaguars

The Oakland Raiders remain a step ahead of the Jaguars.

Both franchises have a strong nucleus of young talent.

Both were buzz teams this offseason.

However, Sunday’s action showed why the Raiders may be closer to achieving their playoff goals.

Oakland outscored New Orleans 22-10 in the fourth quarter to win 35-34 — in the Superdome.

The Raiders shook off a 98-yard touchdown pass from New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees to receiver Brandin Cooks that gave the Saints a 24-10 lead midway through the third quarter.

For many young teams, that would be a kill shot.
